The purpose of the West Virginia Chapter of NIGP, Inc. is to foster and promote advancement in the public procurement profession through education, study, discussion, and networking; to provide a forum for exchanging ideas and information on the role and responsibilities of the procurement function within government procurement; to raise awareness of governmental procurement topics to foster interest in public affairs and cooperation between public agencies and those they serve; and to provide a professional source of information to public agencies seeking expertise in public procurement.
The Chapter provides a range of membership options tailored to diverse individuals engaged in public agency-related procurement. These options include regular membership for those actively employed in procurement roles within public agencies or those with direct influence on the public procurement process. Additionally, student memberships are available for those pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies with a focus on public purchasing or materials management. Special memberships cater to retirees, former public procurement professionals, and specific categories of private-sector procurement experts.
Our regular Chapter meetings typically occur during the third week of each odd-numbered month. In response to demand or member requests, we also organize additional training sessions and special meetings. These gatherings are primarily exclusive to Chapter members, with non-members allowed by invitation only. However, certain training events and networking opportunities are open to non-members and will be promoted accordingly. Join us to connect, learn, and grow within the dynamic field of public procurement.
